The additional data rate in your home country (Canada) is more expensive than roaming in another country.
Additional Data Usage(1): +$12/MB, +$8/MB, +$10/GB
U.S. Roaming Usage(2): +$6/MB, +$6/MB, +$3/GB
Roaming cheaper than home use. This is insane.
If you live on near the border, get a high gain antenna and aim south to see if you get get into the network via a US tower.
Crazy.
